The water jet powered Crew/Supply Vessel, M/V Joyce McCall, was delivered to Seacor Marine, Inc. of Houston, Texas by Gulf Craft, LLC on September 24, 2004. The Joyce McCall measures 175' x 30' and features the following capacities: 25,300 gallons of fuel, 43,400 gallons of rig water, 1,250 gallons of ship's water, 500 gallons of main engine lube oil, 120 gallons of gear lube oil, 90 gallons of hydraulic oil, and waste oil capacity of 120 gallons. Aft deck space measures 100' x 24.5' providing 2,450 sq. ft. of loading area with a deck strength of 540 lbs/sq. ft. providing for cargo capacity of 225 long tons.
The vessel is powered by four Cummins KTA-50-M2 diesel engines rated at 1,800 BHP @ 1900 RPM and each coupled with a Twin Disc, model MG-6848 SC, 2.47:1 reduction ratio gear. Each engine turns a Hamilton HM-811 water jet providing a light ship speed of 32 knots and fully loaded speed of 20 knots. Maneuverability is enhanced with the Thrustmaster 200 HP azimuthing thruster and the 150 HP tunnel thruster, which are powered by a Cummins 6CTA8.3-M diesel engine. Twin 99KW Cummins 6BT5.9-G2 generators supply electrical power for the vessel's services.
The M/V Joyce McCall is capable of discharging drill water at 800 GPM @ 205 ft. and fuel oil at 115 GPM @ 230 ft. In addition to servicing offshore facilities, the M/V Joyce McCall has fire fighting capabilities via two SKUM 5,300 GPM pumps via the stern fire monitors.
Passenger accommodations in the air conditioned main deck cabin include 76 reclining business class bucket seats and bench seating for 6 in the VIP lounge. The main passenger compartment is equipped with two 32" televisions, DVD/VCR player, an AM/FM stereo receiver with CD player and Dolby Surround Sound system providing DVD/VCR surround sound playback. The VIP room is equipped with two 25" television and DVD/VCR player. Located aft of the passenger seating area on the port side are both heads with lavatory, shower stall and toilet. Opposite the heads are two additional staterooms each arranged with a bunk, clothes locker, desk and TV.
Air conditioned crew accommodations below the main deck cabin include six staterooms, a bathroom, galley, mess area and laundry room. Two of the five staterooms have one berth with clothes locker and a TV with DVDV/VCR player. The remaining staterooms have two berths and one clothes locker per stateroom. The head is located in the forward section of the crews' quarters and is arranged with a lavatory, toilet and shower. The galley is equipped with an electric range/oven, sink, two refrigerator/freezers, food pantry. The mess area is arranged with a wall booth seating arrangement and equipped with a TV and DVD/VCR player for the crews' entertainment. The clothes washer and dryer are located in the laundry room and two additional chest freezers are installed with one located in the tunnel and the other in the generator compartment.
Navigational and electronic equipment aboard the M/V Joyce McCall include two Garmin GPS, dual Furuno radars, 2 ICOM VHF radios, two VHF remotes by ICOM, dual GMDSS radio stations by Japan Radio Company, autopilot by ComNav, DPS-1 system by Kongsberg Simrad, loudhailer by Ray Marine, fluxgate compass by KVH, Navtex Receiver by Furuno, fathometer by Datamarine, closed circuit TV monitoring system by Pro Video, stereo/cassette player by Seaworthy, two forward search lights by Carlisle Finch and navigation lights by Perko.
